The region’s climate is moderated by the lake and river, reducing frost risks and enhancing grape growing conditions with a mix of sandy loam and red shale soils that ensure good drainage. The topography of gentle slopes and ample sunlight further supports excellent viticultural conditions.
St. Catharines is also home to the Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Course, which is hosting the 2024 World Rowing Senior, Under 23 and Under 19 Championships. It will be a combined event, taking place 18 – 25 August.

In addition to our Poker Run, Port Dalhousie is known for its rich boating community, historically significant waterways, and home to the “Niagara Grape and Wine Festival.”
